Our 11th release on Repressure is from Dutch DJ and producer Bas Thomas. His track “Second 2 None” is a dark trip through techno landscapes. With remixes from German techno talent Mike Maaβ and Jamez & Soulboy, this EP is something to look out for.
Bas Thomas started to get interested in music way back in 1991. His DJ career got lifted, when he worked for one of the biggest party promoters in Holland called Extrema. He soon got residencies in clubs and released his first record in 1994. After this it became a bit quite around Bas, but in 2006 he returned to the scene and now in 2011, we here at Repressure are pleased to have him on board.
The first remix is from Mike Maaβ. His remix takes “Second 2 None” to a more darker level. Mike is a new talented producer from Germany. His first productions were under his alter ego Tribe Muzika, but this year he decided to produce under his real name Mike Maaβ. With releases on Trapez, Akoom, Italo Business and of course Repressure, big things are bound to happen for this new techno kid.
The producers duo Jamez & Soulboy began producing together just over 3 years ago. But their work starts to be noticed around the globe. Jamez is still well known for his early work released on his legendary award winning dance label Touché Records. Because of the huge success of his label, tracks appeared on big compilation cd’s such as Global Underground 13, Sasha Ibiza, Renaissance and compilations made by Kevin Saunderson, Carl Cox & Armin van Buuren. Also he had a huge hit called Roaches as one of The Trancesetters on the label Hooj Choons.
Their remix of “Second 2 None” works its way through the darkness of the original, where old school techno and new style techno meet up to create a beautiful sound…
